President Nicușor Dan announced that the Romanian state will implement measures following the recent increase in fuel prices, without detailing their content. In a press conference, Nicușor Dan mentioned that discussions took place within the CSAT, involving the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Finance and Energy. He estimated that a set of measures will be announced in about a week.
"We had this discussion in the CSAT about 10 days ago. Here, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, and the Minister of Energy came up with different scenarios. In the meantime, there have been discussions at the government level between the Government and the operators in the energy market, and you will see in the coming days, in about a week, I estimate, a set of measures," said President Nicușor Dan.
When asked whether Romania could opt for price capping or limiting supplies at the pump, Nicușor Dan replied: "You will see the measures at the moment they are adopted, but it will be an action from the Romanian state. That's what I can tell you."
