Siegfried Mureșan: Renegotiating the PNRR is impossible at this moment. PSD is selling the illusion of unrealistic negotiations.

PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan criticized PSD for delays in implementing the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), stating that the party's messages regarding the extension of the deadline are based on an irrelevant amendment submitted by the Group of Communists in the European Parliament.

Mureșan emphasized that the European Parliament has asked the European Commission to extend the implementation deadline of the PNRR, but the Commission has not proposed such a measure. With less than two months before the deadline, the Commission urged member states to prioritize mature projects to finalize the PNRRs by August 31. Mureșan accused PSD of delaying the implementation of the PNRR since 2021 by promoting unrealistic renegotiations.

He mentioned that the government led by Ilie Bolojan is working on finalizing the necessary legislative projects to attract the remaining European funds and called on PSD to participate in an extraordinary parliamentary session to adopt the necessary reform measures.
