The former president of the PSD, Liviu Dragnea, reacted after the interim leader of the party, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that he did not invite him to the Congress due to an alleged ban. Dragnea denounced this statement as a lie, explaining that Grindeanu asked a mutual acquaintance whether he should invite him, but was warned that he might go on stage and speak, which could disrupt the Congress.

The former prime minister further claims that he has no ban and that the real reason he was not invited is the fear of revealing the truth about the party's leadership. Dragnea emphasized that he did not intend to comment on the Congress, considering it a political parody, but felt the need to respond to Grindeanu's accusations, which he considers hypocritical.
