Lia Savonea stated in an interview for Digi24 that she will categorically vote against the reform of judges' pensions during the meeting of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). She emphasized that the reform is perceived by her colleagues as a huge pressure and that it will lead to the de facto elimination of service pensions. Although the opinion regarding special pensions is not on the agenda, the Government is waiting for this opinion to meet the deadline from the PNRR, otherwise risking the loss of 231 million euros. The Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, stated that the CSM's opinion is essential for the Government to be able to commit to the reform of judges' pensions in an emergency regime.
