Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, stated that the government has made progress in balancing the budget and reducing the budget deficit, which is expected to reach 8.4% by the end of the year, according to agreements with the European Commission. Although he acknowledges that essential reforms have not been implemented, he estimates a decrease in inflation in the first months of the following year.

However, the pressure on the budget remains high due to high interest rates on previous loans, with approximately 3% of the deficit coming from these costs. The UDMR leader emphasized the importance of absorbing European funds to help balance the budget in the context of a difficult economic period.
