Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, stated that the budget project should reach Parliament for debate and vote next week, with technical discussions currently taking place between the Deputy Prime Minister, ministers, and the Ministry of Finance. He emphasized the importance of public investments for the Romanian economy, mentioning that halting them could lead to the bankruptcy of Romanian companies. Hunor highlighted the necessity of co-financing for PNRR and European funds, as well as the proposal to provide retirees with pensions of up to 3,000 lei a one-time payment in two installments.
He also mentioned that certain milestones from PNRR, such as the manufacturing of solar panels and hydrogen fuel, will not be met, which could lead to financial losses. Hunor criticized the inclusion of unrealistic objectives in PNRR, emphasizing the difficulties faced by ministries in achieving them.
