The political crisis caused by the appointment of Adrian Veștea as prime minister has led to tense negotiations and ironic reactions from the involved parties. Csoma Botond, the leader of the UDMR deputies, posted a humorous message on Facebook after the Union announced that it would not join the Veștea Government.
"I'm going to have a beer. In the morning, I plan to run 21 kilometers. I'll take my phone with me, in case, by chance, I become the new candidate. God help!" Csoma Botond wrote on his personal Facebook account, the post being visible only to friends.
UDMR was courted by Veștea, who proposed an alliance with PSD and part of PNL, but the Union refused, wanting to avoid an unstable government based on internal conflicts. Additionally, PNL, led by Ilie Bolojan, rejected Veștea's appointment and announced that it would not support a government that could deepen the rift within the party.
Veștea has ten days to form a government, but without the support of PNL and with the opposition of USR, his future is uncertain. The calculation of votes for the government's investiture depends on PSD and the national minorities, as well as possible support from within PNL.
