Irineu Darău, the interim Minister of Economy, discussed the European SAFE program, aimed at the defense industry in Romania. He emphasized that this program offers a favorable loan, with an interest rate of 3%, much lower than Romania's rate of 7%, and a grace period of 10 years.

Darău rejected accusations that the funds would be directed towards foreign producers, stating that 65% of production must be carried out in the EU, and over 50% of investments will be made directly in Romania. He also mentioned that, although not all components can be produced in Romania immediately, there are plans to expand production capacities, including through dual education and technology transfer. Additionally, Darău assured that arms purchases will be integrated with NATO and EU standards, including concrete projects such as shipbuilding and the acquisition of drones. He also mentioned reforms in the management of state companies, which will be selected through a transparent process.
