Ionuț Moșteanu, the Minister of Defense, recently commented on the scandal within the coalition generated by the decision of the Constitutional Court (CCR) regarding the special pensions of magistrates. He stated that the working group formed after the rejection of the law by the CCR is not relevant until the reasoning of the decision is received. Moșteanu emphasized that he does not believe a referendum on this issue will take place, considering that the solution should be the amendment of the law through Parliament. Criticizing the inconsistency of the CCR in its decisions, he mentioned that discussions will continue to find a legislative solution. He also highlighted the complexity of organizing a referendum, suggesting that, in the event that no solution is found, an amendment to the Constitution may be necessary.
