Ilie Bolojan, the dismissed prime minister, emphasized in a press conference that the problems in the energy sector cannot be solved overnight, as significant investments and effective regulations are necessary. He highlighted that the current energy crisis is the result of drought and the lack of actions in the past. Bolojan stressed the importance of storage capacities to manage the volatility generated by renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaics and wind energy.
He also mentioned the need to complete the construction of gas power plants and to invest in nuclear energy to ensure a constant production.
"Energy problems cannot be solved overnight. These are projects that require significant investments, that require good regulations, that require performance in the management of large state energy companies and consistency in government action. Therefore, even though we have an energy crisis today, as a result of the drought and what we have not done for years, we can certainly discuss crisis solutions, but these are not systemic problems," said Ilie Bolojan on Monday, at a press conference held in Oradea.
