Ilie Bolojan, about the use of the term "șobolani" to describe state companies: "I do not regret"

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated on Friday, at Europa FM, that he regrets the use of the term 'rodents' in his public speech, speaking about state companies.

Bolojan asserted that he does not regret, emphasizing that his example is simple and easy to understand, referring to perishable goods that are destroyed.

 "I gave a simple example. I do not regret, because this example refers to something that is understandable to people. In conditions where you have some perishable or consumable goods in a pantry, which you have worked hard for and they are destroyed, you realize that no matter how much you put in that pantry, your family does not have those benefits," said Ilie Bolojan.

He explained that people who tolerate theft and corruption in the public sector are those who contribute to the destruction of resources.

"Think about it that in conditions where you have people in positions who tolerate theft, are part of such networks, tolerate inefficiency, these people are at the chapter of problems that destroy your resources," the prime minister further stated, asked by Cătălin Striblea to give an example of a rodent.

Although he used a metaphorical example, Bolojan emphasized that he does not like to label people.

"It is not people who are rodents, but I described a situation," Bolojan insisted.
