President Nicușor Dan declared that he appointed the liberal Adrian Veștea to be prime minister in place of Eugen Tomac because "it is clear that a political solution is the most appropriate."

"Neither I nor Eugen Tomac have played at governing. It is clear that a political solution is the one that is appropriate," said Nicușor Dan, who presented Adrian Veștea as "a former successful minister."

"He is a person concerned with development. He developed the Airport in Brașov. He is a person who has worked for a long time with budgets and has the responsibility for budgets. He will successfully fulfill this task," added the president.

The announcement by President Nicușor Dan to replace Eugen Tomac comes after PNL and USR refused to support him.
