"Romania needs a new government, with full powers". The deadline set by Grindeanu for resuming discussions regarding the appointment of the prime minister.

Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, announced that starting from September 1, coinciding with the opening of the regular session of Parliament, the calendar for appointing a new prime minister will begin.

Grindeanu emphasized that Romania needs a government with full powers, mentioning that it is unlikely that there will be a majority that includes both PSD and USR.

This week, a plenary session is expected to discuss the Hydrogen Law, an important milestone in the PNRR, as well as the law for closing the PNRR, which has not yet been submitted by the government.

Grindeanu stated that after the extraordinary session, Parliament will need to focus on forming a majority, without excluding the possibility of collaboration with the liberals:

"I do not want to speak on their behalf, it is not my business. My job, as the leader of the largest party in Parliament, is to try to form a majority".
