During the meeting of the National Permanent Bureau of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu stated that there is no commitment option between PSD and AUR for a post-motion government. He emphasized that the party has two options: to remain in power in a pro-European coalition or to go into opposition.
Grindeanu mentioned that the motion of censure is the only common action with AUR, having the role of maximizing the chances of this parliamentary endeavor.
The announcement was made in the context of consultations between the leaders of pro-European parties and President Nicușor Dan.
On the other hand, in the past weeks, the PSD leader announced that he would not form any alliance with AUR, but on Monday morning, Marian Neacșu (PSD) and Petrișor Peiu (AUR) announced that they have started the technical steps for drafting a motion of censure against the Bolojan Government.
For his part, the PSD mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, said that the leaders from Bucharest have campaigned and pressured the regions in Romania to support this common motion, and it is possible that PSD will move forward with a PSD-AUR government.
"They can convince just as it was done now, so they went to each region to convince as many people as possible that this is the best solution to bring Bolojan down, and it will be done now as well. Do you believe that the party base is taken into account? In no case. Because very, very many people, incredibly many, considering my position, to officially tell them, call me or even come to Buzău, I am talking about people from the country, PSD members, who say let’s do something against this leadership, because they are leading the party in a very wrong direction," declared Constantin Toma.
