The government led by Luca Niculescu could approve the first budget revision of the year on Friday, during the new Executive’s first official meeting. According to political sources, the measure is needed to unblock urgent matters in several areas, particularly healthcare.
The government meeting is most likely scheduled for Friday, although the date still needs to be officially confirmed. The budget revision is expected to be one of the main items on the agenda.
According to the cited sources, the Social Democratic Party accepted that Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare present the “real” state of the country’s finances after the revision is adopted. The request was made by party president Sorin Grindeanu.
By November, the Finance Minister is expected to publicly present the state of the finances and the debts transferred to the budget by the former Bolojan Government. A second budget revision is also expected to be adopted around the same time. Information regarding the schedule and the proposed measures currently comes from political sources.
