Minister of Investments and European Projects, Alexandru Ghigiu, announced on Monday that November 6 is the deadline by which Romania must complete all outstanding administrative procedures for the funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to reach the country this year.
Ghigiu warned that the procedures that have remained stalled in recent months must be resolved in approximately two weeks. The minister maintains that the authorities are working against the clock and that there is no longer time for an adjustment period or additional preparations.
Ghigiu said on Facebook that, in the first stage of his mandate, he began direct coordination with the ministries responsible for implementing projects financed through the PNRR. He has already held a working meeting with Development Minister Alexandru Stoica, and the discussions are to be expanded to the level of the other ministries as well.
The announced plan targets the reorganization of internal resources, the expansion of working teams, and the bringing together of technical and political expertise to accelerate procedures. The minister states that the objective is to attract all the European funds to which Romania is entitled.
According to Ghigiu, the stakes directly concern local communities, infrastructure, schools, and hospitals, given that administrative delays may affect access to PNRR funds.
