George Simion, the AUR candidate, has said that if he wins the presidential election, he plans to reduce the number of civil servants from 1.3 million to 800,000 over five years. He emphasized that the measures will be necessary to avoid bankruptcy and that there will be no recourse to VAT hikes. Simion stressed the importance of digitalization and streamlining the administrative apparatus, noting that essential professions such as doctors and teachers would not be affected. He also advocates reducing labor taxation.
