AUR leader George Simion stated on Tuesday evening that his party would enter government and that foreign investors would have no objections to this scenario. He argued that Romania needs a government with a four-year mandate and a stable parliamentary majority in order to adopt economic recovery measures.

George Simion said that AUR officials had held discussions with representatives of foreign investors, and that the conclusion was that “no one has any problem with AUR coming to power”. The statement was not accompanied, in the information presented, by details regarding the identity of the investors or the content of the discussions.

“We cannot vote because some and others want it, the masters of Mr. Peia and others, governments of which we are not a part. No one has any problem with AUR coming to power. Today we are close to governing alone, and it is a matter of time, a matter of time. It could be two months, five months, two years; I prefer to focus on what we will do for Romanians,” George Simion said on TVR 1 on Tuesday evening.
