The president of AUR, George Simion, launched harsh criticisms against the Government, accusing the authorities of preferring to cover the labor force deficit by annually importing tens of thousands of workers from outside the European Union. Simion emphasized that Romania is facing a dysfunctional labor market, which cannot be corrected by integrating foreign workers under the pretext of 'economic pragmatism.' He highlighted that since 2020, governments have opened the door for tens of thousands of foreign workers annually, and by 2026, it is estimated that there will be a quota of 90,000 to 100,000 workers from outside the EU.

Simion rhetorically asked why Romania, which has lost millions of citizens, continues to import workers instead of raising salaries for Romanians. He also mentioned that the Government can only raise salaries for public sector employees, while foreign workers are employed in the private sector, where salaries are determined by market mechanisms. Simion did not provide concrete solutions for increasing salaries in the private sector, suggesting that current measures are rather 'political marketing.'
