George Simion, the leader of AUR, stated that the effects of the meeting with the former presidential candidate, Călin Georgescu, will be visible next week, in the context of PSD preparing changes in governance. The two met on Friday, April 17, at the National Library in Bucharest, discussing a national reconciliation government that would include PSD, PNL, and AUR. PSD intends to force the resignation of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan by withdrawing political support, while Marius Lulea, the founder of AUR, suggested that AUR's support would depend on Georgescu being appointed as Prime Minister. Petrișor Peiu, the leader of AUR senators, emphasized that they do not expect Simion and Georgescu to influence PSD and reiterated AUR's intention to submit a motion of censure around May 13. PSD will organize a referendum to decide whether it will continue to support the government, and the result will be announced in prime time.
