George Simion, the leader of AUR, commented on Facebook about the MApN announcement regarding the resizing of American troops deployed on NATO's Eastern Flank, associating this decision with a deterioration of the bilateral relationship with the United States. He stated that AUR is the 'only' party capable of 'unblocking' the relationship with the USA, criticizing the political leaders in the governing coalition.

Simion emphasized that the withdrawal of troops could be a next step, following Romania's removal from the Visa Waiver. The Minister of National Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, clarified that this is not about the withdrawal of American forces, but about halting the rotation of a brigade, and approximately 1,000 American soldiers will remain in Romania to deter threats. Romania's strategic capabilities, including the missile defense system, remain intact.
