The Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, stated that the resizing of American troops in Europe does not involve a withdrawal, but rather the cessation of the rotation of a brigade that operated in several NATO countries, including Romania. Approximately 1000 American soldiers will remain in Romania, contributing to regional security. The strategic capabilities in Romania, including the missile defense system at Deveselu and the air base at Câmpia Turzii, remain unchanged.
Moșteanu emphasized the development of cooperation with the USA, mentioning the recent transfer of advanced military technology. He reaffirmed that the Romanian Army is the main defense force of the country and highlighted the importance of investments in equipment and in personnel.
