During a press conference at the Palace of Parliament, George Simion, the leader of AUR, reacted to the statements made by Dominic Fritz, the mayor of Timișoara, stating that they exceed the limits of political dispute and are not supported by evidence. Simion emphasized that AUR has not been funded by any state, including Russia, and announced that the party will take legal action against the accusations. Although he does not contest Fritz's political legitimacy, Simion criticized his statements as inappropriate.

Additionally, the AUR leader accused the existence of political repression and discrimination against his party, demanding that debates in Parliament be held exclusively in physical format. Simion also announced the intention to introduce a legislative proposal to the agenda of the Permanent Bureau of the Senate for the election of mayors and presidents of county councils in two rounds.
