Journalist Emilia Șercan criticized President Nicușor Dan after his statements made on Thursday evening in Chișinău about the head of SPP, Lucian Pahonțu. Șercan praised the journalists from the Republic of Moldova for the questions addressed to the head of state and criticized the lack of reaction from a part of the press in Romania.
"The solidarity of my journalist colleagues from Chișinău is extraordinary, as they did not spare President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, with questions about the head of SPP, Lucian Pahonțu, in the conditions where there were few Romanian journalists I heard asking questions on this subject. What a shame!
Moldovan journalists are the ones who asked the most uncomfortable questions to Nicușor Dan, in the conditions where the conference this evening was the first opportunity for questions to be addressed after the revelations about Pahonțu.
Mariana Nistor, I thank you for your solidarity, you moved me more than you can imagine, and I ask you to convey my thanks to the other colleagues from Moldova who asked Nicușor Dan about Pahonțu. Unfortunately, the sound was weak and I did not catch the names and publications mentioned, but I recognized your voice!
As for Nicușor Dan's reaction, it is a shame for the idea of democracy. This evening, he definitively parted ways with everything that means the idea of honesty in politics," wrote Emilia Șercan after the press conference held by the president in Chișinău.
