The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that there is no panic or disaster regarding the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), emphasizing that investment projects continue to advance. He highlighted the importance of completing investments to access the sum of 5 billion euros in grants, mentioning that Romania has already lost 450 million euros due to the non-implementation of the reform regarding the governance of state-owned companies.
Pîslaru explained that the main stake is the grants, which remain unchanged, while loans may vary. Since taking over the ministry, the absorption rate of grants has significantly increased, with Romania attracting 9.03 billion euros out of the 13.57 billion available. The minister mentioned that Romania is no longer among the countries with issues regarding the PNRR and that there are still approximately 4.8-4.9 billion euros to be attracted, including the final request of 3.7 billion, which must be submitted by August 31.
