The president of USR, Dominic Fritz, stated that the law does not allow Elena Lasconi, the former party leader and mayor of Câmpulung Muscel, to leave USR unilaterally. Fritz suggests that Lasconi may want to be excluded in order to keep her position as mayor. Although he supports Lasconi as mayor, he believes that her recent statements about national politics are not very happy.

Lasconi recently commented on the elections for the Capital City Hall, expressing her appreciation for the results that did not favor extremism. She also emphasized, in a message, that democracy in Romania has suffered a serious blow in the past year, highlighting issues of hatred, distrust, and misinformation in society.
