The Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, stated that there are discontentments within the PSD regarding the loss of the founding mission of social democracy, following some recently adopted measures. This statement complements the comments of the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, who announced an extensive internal consultation regarding the party's remaining in power and the possible exclusion of USR from the coalition.
Manole emphasized that the Social Democratic Party opposed the introduction of CASS for certain categories and VAT increases, mentioning that, although there have been measures considered successful, such as capping food prices, inflation has risen as a result of the VAT increase. Grindeanu added that he will continue internal consultations to clarify the future of the coalition, including the possibility of changing the prime minister, mentioning that the current coalition is "badly structured".
