Diana Buzoianu, the interim Minister of Environment, Waters and Forests, stated on Friday that early elections would represent a correct solution for Romania, in the event that no minority government manages to gather the necessary votes in Parliament. During a press conference held in Cluj-Napoca, Buzoianu emphasized that if the proposals for a minority government, such as those of PNL-USR-UDMR or PSD, do not have a majority, then early elections would be the best option.
PNL, USR, and UDMR are proposing Siegfried Mureșan, a Member of the European Parliament and Vice President of the European People's Party, for the position of Prime Minister, while PSD supports Sorin Grindeanu, the party president, for the same position. This tense political situation highlights the current uncertainty in the Romanian governmental landscape.
