The Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, stated that Romania has the capacity to shoot down drones that enter its airspace, according to Law 73 of 2025. Although a Russian drone was recently intercepted, it was not shot down but returned to Ukraine. Moșteanu emphasized that the pilots had operational approvals to act, and the regulations governing the command chain for shooting down manned aircraft are in the process of being approved by CSAT.
