The former Minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea, has asked DNA to reopen the case of the purchase of BMWs for the Interior Ministry, closed in 2021.

Ghinea filed a 14-page appeal to DNA, claiming that the case prosecutor failed to conduct a proper investigation and charged that the order to close the case was issued to protect Lucian Bode, a former interior minister. Ghinea brought to DNA miniatures of car models to support his argument.
