Former liberal leader Crin Antonescu commented on the political situation in Romania, three weeks after the dismissal of the Ilie Bolojan Government through a motion of censure. Antonescu believes that the perception of former president Klaus Iohannis will change over time, mentioning that under his mandate there was an "emasculation" of the political class. He compares the current situation with previous periods, stating that the differences between the major parties are hard to observe.

His criticisms also extend to the National Liberal Party, which he considers profoundly changed and more "PSD-like". Antonescu emphasizes the degradation of the quality of dialogue and political leadership, linking these developments to Iohannis's mandate. He also criticizes the management of the 2019 presidential campaign, highlighting the lack of courage to organize debates.
