The mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, launched an attack against the president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stating that he is not the only "Bolojanist" in the party and that there are many colleagues who support Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. Toma emphasized that the PSD risks a bad fate if it follows Grindeanu's call to leave the government, mentioning that the party could end up in opposition. He stated that Bolojan is the right man to lead Romania in these difficult times, even though he is not an excellent communicator. Toma warned that a potential change of the prime minister could affect the image of the PSD, which is already perceived as being both in government and in opposition. He also mentioned that the DNA investigation at the Romanian Road Authority represents a blow to the party. Toma's statements come in the context in which Grindeanu stated that, during the regional meetings, there was no consensus in favor of continuing the current government.
