Hubert Thuma, the president of the Ilfov County Council, requested Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to clarify whether he supports the position of his honorary advisor, Vlad Gheorghe, who proposed the assimilation of Ilfov into a metropolitan Bucharest.

Thuma considers Gheorghe's attack on the administration in Ilfov unacceptable, emphasizing that the county is better managed than Bucharest. He proposed collaboration to solve the problems, mentioning that the Ilfov budget could significantly increase by allocating funds from Bucharest's income tax.

Gheorghe's proposal to organize a referendum for the dissolution of the Ilfov County Council was criticized by Thuma, who accused it of leading to the elimination of useful bodies. Prime Minister Bolojan stated that he did not have time to analyze the proposals, while Thuma accused the PNL leadership of undermining the liberal candidates in the presidential elections.
