Ciprian Ciucu, recently elected general mayor of the Capital, proposes a return to the system of electing mayors in two rounds: "It is very important to have mayors with legitimacy, to have mayors with authority."

Ciprian Ciucu acknowledged that his legitimacy is fragile and advocated for the return to the system of electing mayors in two rounds of voting. Although he does not have an official mandate from the party, he intends to advocate for this change both within the PNL and in the Coalition, arguing that mayors elected in two rounds would have more legitimacy and authority. Ciucu emphasized the importance of this legitimacy for the implementation of necessary projects.

Currently, USR supports the two-round election, while PSD and UDMR oppose this option.
