Ciprian Ciucu, the General Mayor of Bucharest and leader of the PNL, was summoned on Thursday to the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) to be heard by prosecutors in several cases, according to sources from Cotidianul.ro and Mediafax.

According to sources, the mayor was summoned urgently, and the case is being handled by the Second Section of the DNA, which deals with crimes related to corruption. There is a possibility that Ciucu may be charged. The investigation is taking place in a tense political context, in which Romania is without a full government, and negotiations for the formation of a new Executive are ongoing.
