The leader of the Social Democratic Party, Marcel Ciolacu, posted a harsh criticism on Facebook regarding the current government, stating that it would have been sanctioned much more severely if it had been led by the PSD. He highlighted the current economic issues, such as the price of diesel exceeding 11 lei, rising inflation, budget cuts for Education and Health, and the purchasing power at a historic low. Ciolacu mocked the public perception of the prime minister, considered "the most competent," and emphasized that, despite these problems, democracy is strengthening.
He also accused a television station favorable to the prime minister of manipulation during the electoral campaign, mentioning that the individuals involved in this process now hold positions in the Government. Criticizing the closure of a television station that was critical of the government, Ciolacu called for a political change, emphasizing that the living standards of the population are declining.
