Cătălin Predoiu: The submission of the draft law on integrity has unblocked a political deadlock

The interim Minister of Justice declared that the submission of the draft law on integrity in Parliament was an essential political decision to provide a solution in a deadlock situation. The project, developed in collaboration with the National Integrity Agency, contains transparency guarantees and has been submitted to the European Commission.

Cătalin Predoiu emphasized the importance of consultations with political parties, which formulated amendments that were included in the legislative proposal. He explained that, in order to trigger the parliamentary debate, it was necessary to notify Parliament with a project that reflects these amendments.

He mentioned that, although some amendments do not align with his legal vision, the decision to proceed with the project was correct, considering that it unblocked the legislative process. Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that the Government will support the publication of asset declarations on the institution's website, and the project will be debated in the extraordinary session next week.
