Opponent of Ciprian Ciucu in the race for the Capital City Hall in 2025, Cătălin Drulă jumped to his defense after the DNA accused Ciucu of taking bribes during the time he was the mayor of Sector 6. In a Facebook post, Drulă mentioned that, although they had differences of opinion, he does not believe that Ciucu is a corrupt person. He explained that, despite the political divergences, he does not consider the accusations against Ciucu to be justified. Drulă emphasized that the timing of these accusations raises questions, given the tense political context. Ciprian Ciucu reacted to the DNA accusations, denying that he received bribes and stating that his name was used by third parties to solicit money in the electoral campaign.
