Călin Georgescu, a former candidate for Romania's presidency, is summoned on Friday, June 27, to the Prosecutor General's Office in connection with his statements in a Realitatea TV program, where he quoted Corneliu Zelea Codreanu. The Public Prosecutor's Office has extended the criminal prosecution for promoting the cult of persons guilty of genocide and war crimes, as well as for fascist and legionary ideas. The charges are related to his statements in a prime-time TV program in which he defended views associated with controversial historical figures.
