The leader of the AUR senators, Petrișor Peiu, stated that he will not support the investment of the Veștea Government, claiming that he has not been contacted for negotiations and is asking for "normal hearings" in Parliament, for "two or three days," and that each "committee should have a reasonable timeframe, at least 3 hours."
Peiu stated that it is out of the question for the party to vote for a government of which it is not a part, questioning the legitimacy of Prime Minister Veștea.
"No one - neither Grindeanu, nor Nicușor Dan, nor Veștea - has contacted us, has asked us to vote for the government. How can I vote for a government? There is no world in which a party votes for a government of which it is not a part. It is out of the question for us to vote for such an executive," Peiu declared on Digi24.
He also criticized the government program, considering that it does not address essential measures for AUR, such as reducing VAT or indexing pensions.
Peiu announced that the formation will either not participate at all in the investment vote, with AUR parliamentarians being absent from the hall, or they will not vote.
Additionally, the leader of the senators is requesting a broader schedule for the hearings of the ministers in Parliament, demanding extensive debates in committees. Peiu emphasized that AUR will continue to oppose the current political endeavor.
"We want normal hearings, in which we also have the right to ask questions, not like until now. Each committee should have a reasonable timeframe, at least 3 hours," he said.
