The leadership of AUR, through the voice of the leader of the senators Petrișor Peiu, firmly denied the rumors that a group of parliamentarians intends to leave the party to join the group United for Romania. Peiu stated that this information is erroneous and fabricated, emphasizing that there is no such plan within AUR.
He accused that these speculations are meant to create the impression that votes could be drawn from the opposition. Additionally, the senator criticized the meeting between the designated prime minister Adrian Veștea and the PACE parliamentary group, stating that the current parliamentary majority does not reflect the election results.
Peiu emphasized that President Nicușor Dan has a decisive role in forming the government, considering that he exceeds the limits of his responsibilities. He warned that the president should avoid intervening in the internal affairs of the parties, stressing that the current negotiations for forming a majority do not respect the will expressed by the voters.
