After the vote in the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, the leader of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that AUR and USR did not support the Law of the National Integrity Agency, recording 49 votes against from AUR and 34 from USR, without any favorable votes from them.
Grindeanu emphasized that the change in the position of the two parties between the committee vote and the plenary vote raises questions, suggesting a possible alliance between AUR and USR:
“For me, this opposing vote is a big question mark, after the committee voted in favor, for transparency, to access the 770 million, and in the plenary it was voted against. But this probably shows a certain trend of alliances between AUR and USR.”
The law was adopted by a large majority and will go to the Senate for the decisive vote, aiming to increase the transparency of wealth declarations, essential for accessing funds from the PNRR.
The law was challenged at the CCR, and an amendment that would have required Nicușor Dan's partner to publicly disclose her wealth declaration was declared unconstitutional.
