Marian Neacșu (PSD), former deputy prime minister, and Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, announced on Monday, in a joint press statement, that the AUR and PSD parties are preparing together a motion of censure against Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. According to them, both parties will initiate the motion, in order to avoid the risk of both parties submitting separate motions and falling together.

“After several rounds of discussions, it was decided that Petrișor Peiu and I will take care of the technical side of a joint motion of censure,” said Marian Neacșu.

“We are making a joint effort to draft a motion of censure to be presented and debated in May,” stated Petrișor Peiu.

This announcement comes in the context of today's consultations at Cotroceni regarding major projects, such as SAFE and PNRR, and the previous announcement by AUR regarding the submission of a motion of censure.

When asked about the hypothesis of a PSD-AUR alliance, Marian Neacșu stated that “Any journey begins with the first step.”
