AUR First Deputy Chairman Dan Dungaciu stated on Monday, after the consultations at Cotroceni Palace, that the party delegation reiterated that snap elections are the solution and accused Romania’s president, Nicușor Dan, of perpetuating a state of societal violence.
“The president is perpetuating societal violence(...) We are continuing the spiral of violence, now over values. Unfortunately, the presidency is rather a blocking factor,” Dan Dungaciu stated, emphasizing that the solution proposed to President Nicușor Dan is represented by snap elections.
For his part, Senator Petrișor Peiu emphasized that he told the president that “we have a majority for snap elections, which can be verified.”
“I told him that he must stop degrading the presidential institution by repeating lies(...) There was a moment when I reproached him for derailing from democracy,” Peiu also said.
