Chris Murphy criticized the Trump administration for its plans regarding Greenland, mentioning that the president is not focusing on the domestic issues of Americans. Other senators, such as Mark Warner and Mark Kelly, argued that actions against Greenland would completely destroy NATO. Senator Tim Kaine stated that Congress could block any military action in Greenland.

The White House has expressed its desire to control Greenland as a national security priority, suggesting that the use of the military is an option. Trump escalated the rhetoric, stating that he will do something in Greenland, despite the opposition.
