Alexandru Rogobete denies the rumors regarding a candidacy for the Timișoara City Hall: "Simply political speculations"

Alexandru Rogobete, former Minister of Health, stated for stiripesurse.ro that he categorically rejects the speculation regarding a candidacy for the Timișoara City Hall on behalf of the PSD.

He emphasized that he does not intend to pursue a career in local public administration and that there has been no discussion in the party about such a candidacy. This reaction comes in the context of rumors that have emerged in the press, related to the situation of the current mayor Dominic Fritz and the recent legislative changes.

Rogobete characterized this information as "simple political speculation" and suggested that it could be used as a response to his recent criticisms. He reaffirmed that his concerns remain in the field of health and that he is dedicated to continuing the projects initiated during his term.

Rogobete resigned from the position of minister in April 2026, and speculation regarding a candidacy for the mayor's office began to circulate as early as February, but he has been more reserved in his statements since then.
