Alexandru Nazare, the Minister of Finance, stated that fuel prices have recorded "spectacular increases" and that the Government needs to intervene, considering that the current stocks of producers were purchased earlier.

Nazare acknowledged the concerns regarding the rising fuel prices and assured that the analysis from the Ministry of Finance has been sent to the Executive to take action. He also emphasized that the Ministry has updated the state aid scheme for transporters, providing a tax deduction to mitigate the impact of rising prices.

The Government will continue to monitor the situation and will act in accordance with Ordinance 84 of 2022 to manage the crisis in the energy sector.
