Alexandru Muraru, vice president of PNL: "I would have liked to see a firmer and more vocal message from Romania in support of the USA and Israel"

Alexandru Muraru, the leader of PNL Iași, expressed the desire for Romania to adopt a firmer and more political message of support for the United States and Israel in the context of the conflict in Iran. He emphasized that Romania, as a NATO frontline state, should reaffirm its strategic partnership with the USA, considering national security interests. Muraru mentioned that ambiguity in such moments of crisis can be interpreted as hesitation.

In official reactions, Nicușor Dan assured that Romania is safe and that institutions are monitoring the situation in the Middle East, prioritizing the safety of Romanian citizens. Additionally, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that all structures are on alert, considering the closure of airspaces by several countries and that efforts are being made to inform and repatriate Romanian citizens stranded in the region.
