The President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, stated that PNL is the only party that can decide who will be its prime minister, thus rejecting the influence of PSD or other parties in the coalition. His comments come in the context where the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that the majority of PSD members support changing the current governmental structure. Abrudean emphasized that government decisions must be made with responsibility and calm, not under the impulse of emotions.

He also avoided speculating on possible actions of PNL in the event that PSD decides to leave the government, stating that PNL will continue to support the current prime minister, Ilie Bolojan. Grindeanu mentioned that PSD is analyzing three scenarios for its future in government, and the final decision will be made on April 20.
