Senate President Mircea Abrudean said on Monday, at Parliament, that the PNL and USR could together form a right-wing bloc ahead of the 2028 parliamentary elections. However, he emphasized that it is “too early” for concrete discussions about a possible political alliance.
Abrudean stated that, at present, the two parties are cooperating at the parliamentary level and are in opposition. According to him, the cooperation is working well, but the priorities are day-to-day political activity and criticizing the missteps of the PSD Government.
The liberal leader spoke about the desire to build a “modernizing bloc for Romania,” which could bring together the two center-right opposition formations. He insisted that a possible alliance should be analyzed later, after parliamentary cooperation has been consolidated and political developments have been assessed.
